About equipment and asset sharing at Jisc

Research intensive universities have state-of-the-art equipment which they want to share with each other, the research community and with industry – from anechoic chambers to wind tunnels, mass spectrometers to supercomputers. This would help to reduce costs and enable institutions to tap into relevant staff expertise.

On this blog, you will find the latest news and resources around our work to support the equipment and asset sharing agenda. We have focussed on 3 key services: the national portal, Kit Catalogue and the HPC agreements, of which the equipment.data national portal has emerged as the main service to be taken forward and redeveloped. We will also invite guest posts from a variety of other organisations, vendors, funders, universities and service providers that are interested and involved in the subject.

This is also the place where you can get engaged, let us know what you think, any suggestions for new developments or anything that we might have missed. You can do this via the comments section, or feel free to get in touch with any of us, but don’t be surprised if we ask you to write a blog post!
